PRIMERS, SEALERS AND DECORATIVE ADDITIVES
A unique feature of Stucco Italiano is its great range of decorative finishes ancillaries, associated with its offer of main materials. Some of these additives are developed to solve the challenges that artisans commonly encounter in the work-site, and to facilitate the application of the decorative plasters or paints.
Other decorative finishes complements are conceived to add special effects to Venetian plaster, decorative plasters and paints, or to provide them with the best protection.
These decorative finishes ancillaries are used to prepare the surface for the application of decorative plasters and paints.
They help to ensure a proper adhesion and to enhance the durability of the final finish.
AntiCrack is a flexible undercoat plaster which reduces the risk of cracks on plasters applied to drywall and on other unstable substrates. It considerably improves the impact resistance and durability of constructions. It is essential on drywall and on old plasters, and it’s the ideal substrate for lime plasters.
Base for furniture is a fibrous and flexible undercoat plaster, used as a first coat when applying a decorative plaster on a table, piece of furniture or any other wooden object. Its purpose is to provide a flexible layer capable of accommodating the natural expansion and contraction of wood bodies, and thus to prevent cracks in the decorative plaster finish. It is normally applied after a layer of Primer Q.

Our GLP plaster is known for its exceptional adhesion strength and non-shrinking properties. It is ideal for filling gaps between tiles before applying Pastellone or other plasters. Additionally, its high adherence makes it a suitable first layer on smooth surfaces like marble or tile existing floors: with GLP, sanding of the tiles is no longer necessary.
Universal acrylic primer with no quartz grit. It has to be diluted 1 to 9 with water, and then be applied with a roller on every type of substrate.
This breathable, water-based primer has a good adhesion and low penetration in the support. It facilitates the application of many decorative paints. It comes in a white base and its prerogative is to be easily tinted in the colour of the decorative finish.
Ideal base primer for: Lime Paint, Liberty Epoque, Supernova, Nappa, Kristalium, SpritzColor, Ossidato.
Primer Q – Strong grip is the solution for high-stress plasters that require a primer with maximum adhesion performance. As a base layer, it creates a secure bond to the substrate for materials such as Eco Terrazzo and Reinforced Microcement. It is also effective as a base when applying plasters to wooden surfaces such as tables and other furniture.
A very adhesive acrylic primer with quartz sand. It is used as the standard undercoat before applying most of our lime or cement-based plasters. It is ready to use on any kind of substrate, although a 10% dilution with water is possible. We recommend it as a must-have for applicators that look for professional Venetian plaster complementary products.
Leveling Base is a plaster designed to smooth walls in preparation for paints that demand an exceptionally smooth surface. Unlike common market products, our Leveling Base does not contain gypsum. While it offers the non-shrinking properties of gypsum-based levelers, it avoids their drawbacks. Our product is alkaline, providing natural anti-mould properties. Additionally, it eliminates the need for a primer, allowing you to apply the decorative finish directly.

hese decorative finishes ancillaries are designed to be mixed with decorative plaster materials to help artisans overcome specific challenges on the job site, such as extreme weather conditions or large surface areas. They improve the workability and performance of the plaster.
Our densifier is a special resin that, once mixed with an alkaline mixture, makes it denser and more viscous. It is used when the lime-based plaster is too liquid, for example when a big quantity of liquid pigment is added to the material. It can also be used when the plaster must be applied in great thickness, to prevent it too fall from the wall during the application. Note that if the suggested percentage is exceeded the material will go back to its liquid form.

It is a retardant paste for lime products. It lengthens the drying time allowing applications on surfaces otherwise too large. It can be used on all of our products based on lime and cement. It comes in 0,9 kg buckets. The quantity to be added to the material depends on your own needs, the maximum is a full jar per 24 kg bucket of material.
It is designed to remove ordinary dirt, as well as dirt found above radiators or fireplaces. When you wash a wall finished with Venetian Stucco there is the risk that the dirt on the surface penetrates in the stucco together with the water you use to clean it, making it irreparably dirty. Our cleaner keeps the dirt into its foam, preventing it from penetrating.
This additive is ideal for creating decorative finishes such as Lava Craters, Marmorino Hammered, or other three-dimensional effects with lime plasters. It enhances the thixotropic properties of the plaster, meaning it becomes thicker and more stable when at rest while remaining fluid and workable under agitation. The additive ensures the plaster holds its shape once applied, making it perfect for achieving intricate effects that would be impossible with a more fluid material.

For example, in excessive heat, very large walls, crumbly or very smooth substrates such as marble or tiles. Furthermore, other additives for Venetian plaster and Italian stuccos are useful to cope with particular requests from the end client, when the material needs to be modified to make it brighter, phosphorescent, or with colored dots.
Stucco Italiano is a system designed primarily for the craftsman. Therefore, our Stucco additives are used to give space to the creativity and imagination of our primary customers. The majority of these are decorative additives for Venetian plaster or other Italian stuccos.
